Our Mission

The mission of the Social Sciences programs is to provide education, scholarship, and training in the social sciences disciplines. Our Social Science, Psychology, History and Sociology degree programs are designed to deliver a strong foundation in liberal arts that helps to prepare students for successful careers, professional programs, or graduate programs in social sciences, psychology, or education.

Our Programs

The Social Sciences department at Robert Morris University prepares graduates to earn the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bacheloof Science (B.S.) degree in Social Science, the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology, the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History, or the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology

The department also guides students seeking to meet the necessary requirements for teacher certification in Social Studies.  A post-baccalaureate, certification-only program in Social Studies is also available for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree.  Students interested in learning about specific program requirements for teacher certification should visit the Department of Education.
