Our Mission

The degree programs offered in the Social Sciences Department provide education, scholarship, and training in the social sciences through a strong foundation in the liberal arts that prepares students for successful careers and continued education in graduate school.

Our Programs

The social sciences department at Robert Morris University offers on-ground degree programs in  HistoryPolitical SciencePsychology, Social Scienceand Sociology, and on-line programs in Criminal Justice and Psychology.

The on-ground programs can also be completed in the Early Admission to Law School Program.

The department also guides students seeking to meet the necessary requirements for teacher certification in Social Studies.  A post-baccalaureate, certification-only program in Social Studies is also available for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree.  Students interested in learning about specific program requirements for teacher certification should visit the Department of Education.

The social sciences department is the home of the Oral History Center.
