A variety of partnerships enriches the educational environment for students in the School of Education and Social Sciences.

All programs have close ties to professional communities, including advisory boards for Education, History and Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology & Criminal Justice.

Education programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and RMU has affiliation agreements with over 100 local schools and school districts, providing students a wide array of possibilities for student teaching and field experiences.

RMU is also a part of the Ohio River Consortium, a collaborative effort between Avonworth, Quaker Valley, Moon Area and Cornell school districts with the Teacher Education Programs of Robert Morris University, with the aim of embedding active learning strategies into every student's learning experience, with funding from the Grable Foundation.

The Oral History Center partners with the Jacob Ferree Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to conduct the Iraq/Afghanistan Veterans Project (IAVP), which aims to preserve first-hand, on-the-ground histories of America’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
