The Certificate of Advanced Study in Reading is designed to meet the needs and interests of certified teachers who want to increase their knowledge and improve their practice in literacy when working with both fellow teachers and students. 

Students will complete a series of 15 credits of instruction that will provide them with a comprehensive background in literacy. Students will complete various field experiences (100 hours) along with one (1) practicum (PreK-3, 4-7, 7-12 bands for field experiences).

A unique component of this program is the team approach of the reading faculty in working and mentoring students working toward this certificate.
Admission Requirements
Applicants for the Certificate of Advanced Study in Reading must have a teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree with a 3.0 GPA.  A copy of all transcripts must be provided with the RMU graduate application.
